HWTT activate emergency support to ensure water supply in drought winter

Since the beginning of winter, the average precipitation in Zhejiang Province has been 50% less than that in the same period of normal years. The total amount of water storage in large-scale reservoirs has also decreased. Drought conditions have obviously occurred in southeastern Zhejiang and other regions. All parts of the province have urgently launched emergency water supply measures for  winter drought.

Faced with the severe water use situation, HWTT actively responded to the requirements of local governments, immediately activated emergency support and guarantee measures to ensure water supply. On the one hand, check each system to ensure the normal and stable operation of the existing equipment; On the other hand, carry out capacity expansion and  other technologies to transform or  optimize the system to increase the production capacity of old equipment.

Under  severe water shortages of Taizhou, the Yuhuan City’s subsea seawater  desalination and drought-resistance  emergency project produces 30,000 tons of desalinated purified  water every day for local residents, effectively alleviating local water problems.

In Qushan, the original 10,000-ton daily desalination system was  operating at full capacity. Under the continuous operation of HWTT engineers for nearly two weeks, the third-phase 5,000-ton daily desalination system was  upgraded to the grid, and the effluent is now urgently tested and discharged .

After the continuous sluggish precipitation for nearly half a year, the reservoir on Baisha island has dried up and exposed the bottom of the reservoir. Upon receiving the information, HWTT responded immediately and dispatched engineers to land on the island. A few days ago, the seawater desalination project which can produce nearly 500 tons/d has been commissioned  and begun to provide continuous water supply for the residents of the island. When the project was completed and handed over, a local resident held the hand of a HWTT’s technical staff and said:“ You solved this big problem for us in time so we don’t have to go to (other islands) to fetch water every day.”

On the main island of the East Pole  and surrounding islands, two sets desalination systems of 300ton/d were commissioned and put into use in last October and early this month.

Continuous low temperature is a great challenge for both outdoor pipelines and other equipment or  on-site operations of engineers. However, drought is about  people's livelihood. HWTT uses practical actions to fulfill the corporate mission of "developing water technology for the benefit of society" . We will continue to spare no effort to help ensuring the water supply of all residents in the province.
