Through construction for one year-odd, recently the 2nd Phase 5000 ton/d Seawater Desalination Equipment at Qushan Town, Daishan County Established by the Center Began to Operate Successfully, and entered into acceptance stage.
Long before now, the 1st Phase 5000 ton/d Seawater Desalination Equipment was completed here by the Center, and put into operation at the end of 2010. The project located at Qushan Town is used as a supplement when whole the town (island) met shortage of water supply. Presently the town is in non-drought period; the 1st phase seawater desalination equipment operates partially with output of 2000 ton/d. When being in drought period, the equipment of the 1st phase and 2nd phase will start with full capacity, reaching output of 10,000 ton/d.
It is understood that, when being in arid seasons in summer each year, the fresh water supply has ever been a great problem vital to directly affect the interests of the people here. Besides water intake from the continent, seawater desalination has turned into the most direct and effective measure to alleviate the water resource shortage.
