In Hangzhou, on August 26, 2013, with a pen moving on a signing table, the EPC General Contracting Project of 50000 t/d Seawater Desalination in Cangzhou Bohai New Zone was formally signed. This is also a large scale general contracting project following Caofeidian Project with same scale.
Regardless the development of seawater desalination industry or the needs of water supply, Cangzhou Bohai New Zone is in the benign development period. The rapid economic development and the blowout caused from newly establishing and expanding project in Bohai New Zone urgently need to have an equilibrium point between water shortage and water supply. Initial investigation showed that the shortage of water using quantity in Bohai New Zone in 2015 will reach to 0.3 million t/d. The seawater desalination techniques as a measure of increasing fresh water capacity will help the economic development of Bohai New Zone and solve, to an degree, the predicament of water shortage.
