On February 1, 2018, with water sound of “Hua-la-la”, the 10560 t/d seawater desalination project located at MACANAO City, Venezuela, began to produce fresh water successfully through debugging.
As one of the large countries of oil reserves in the world, Venezuela seems to be rich in resources, but its fresh water resources are extremely poor; the situation of “water is more expensive than oil” is worrying the government, especially, after a severe drought and power supply unbalance broke out, local government actively explored options to improve the present situation of water resources shortage. Facing difficulty , HWC is anxious about what others are anxious about, and recognizes the importance of strategic position of this city where the conference of The world’s non-aligned movement was held. Led personally by Mr. Meng Youguo, the vice general manager, a WHC’s team visited the place located at Caribbean Sea for the first time in April 2016, and carried out investigation there for as long as over one month. The leading technology of seawater desalination and the rigorous working attitude of Chinese enterprises make the Venezuelan party highly trusted, thus the Venezuelan party trusted HWC to the important tasks.
HWC takes charge of technological design, equipment purchase, guiding installation and debugging, joint operation of late system for 18 months, and training for Venezuelan technicians etc.
As one of the civil engineering of this island, 10560 t/d seawater desalination project of MACANAO City is paid high attention to by Venezuelan government; the country’s vice president carried out investigations on spot for many times in the early stage of the project construction. After the project completed, the effluent water was be directly connected to the municipal tap water pipe network. It effectively solves the problems of quality and quantity of Venezuelan residents’ use water, and terminated the situation of transporting fresh water by large vehicles in the present stage, meanwhile, meet the requirements of special use water for food, beverage, ice-making etc. industries, fundamentally solving the negative influence caused from water shortage.

In the past November 2017, a batch of friends from the other side of the ocean appeared in HWC’s court. It is a team consisting of 14 experts from Lama Environmental Protection Ministry and Water Service Company, Venezuela. They made a special visit to HWC for one month. HWC arranged a team consisting of most senior experts to carry out training for them. Through one-month theoretic learning, on-the- spot investigation, field trip on key seawater desalination demonstration project of State Development and Reform Commission, and training of equipment manufacture base etc. HWC’s strong technical strength, specialized experts team and capacity scale at million ton/d level won high praise from the experts of Venezuelan Project Group.
