Recently, Zhejiang Province Department of Science and Technology organized and convened a supervision and inspection meeting on implementation and progress of “Development and Demonstration Project of Domestic Key Techniques of 100000 t/d Seawater Desalination by Membrane Process ”. Various topics made concrete report on progress in their topics, and proposed solving schemes on existing problems to determine the next step working plan.
The project is a province-ministry consulting project jointly by THE National Ministry of Science and Technology and Zhejiang Province Department of Science and Technology with the Center as leading executing unit. The project unites seven key enterprises and research institutions in the trade of seawater desalination in Zhejiang Province, and aims at key techniques and equipment in construction of seawater desalination engineering by membrane process to develop 12500 t/d single device of RO seawater desalination, domestic key component membrane products, high pressure pump, energy recovery system for seawater desalination by membranes process, develop optimization and management system of large scale seawater desalination plant, large scale seawater intake and pretreatment techniques, and concentrated seawater disposal techniques.
The project began to be implemented from 2009, and will be finished wholly at the end of 2013. Under joint effort of the project’s organizing unit and various topic groups, various topics have been carrying out in perfect order. At present, the 1st phase 20000 t/d seawater desalination demonstration project was established at Liuheng Island, Zhoushan, in it a set of 10000 t/d simple unit system is the largest RO seawater desalination simple device; the 2nd phase is under construction steadily, and has completed civil construction work and simple unit design of 12500 t/d seawater desalination device; partial equipment and materials have been transported to the site; the next step work will be carried out installation and debugging, and plans to complete 12500 t/d RO seawater desalination system in July, meanwhile, there have been breakthrough progress in domestic RO membrane, high pressure pump, and energy recovery device: the domestic RO membrane element products made by Hangzhou Beidouxing Membrane Products Co.,Ltd have been applied to the 1st phase Liuheng Demonstration Project, and have shown better performance in one year’s operation; high pressure pump and energy recovery device have been completed prototype production basically, and will be applied to the 12500 t/d simple unit demonstration project; in addition, the central centralized monitoring and management system, sludge deposal system and concentrated brine utilization have been achieved better results also.
